The Way to Achieve Your Goals

Everyone says writing down your goals is important. Writing them down only takes things one step closer. Organizations don't think twice about creating strategic plans. They love to issue credos, mantras and mission statement. Most of these are so generic, "To provide quality service," type of ideas you could slap them on the walls of 99% percent of the businesses on the planet. Overall they generate meaningless drivel that no one really ever cares about.

In the one percent that create something entirely unique is Brains On Fire. BOF created an internal book called Tequila Shots they recently shared it on their blog. Their book connects their organizational goals to their beliefs. Taking it even farther, each section includes specific tactics on how they plan to realize those goals. Even more impressive is that Tequila Shots is visually interesting especially when you consider the typical bulleted strategic plan.
