Pony Vision

Seeing eye dogs are so out...If you're blind and you're cool you get a seeing eye pony. Seeing eye ponies are now beginning to cut into the market share of seeing eye dogs. Next time you're thinking of getting a seeing eye dog for your friend, consider whether they wouldn't be better off with a pony instead.

Guide ponies can ride in the back of your van, they travel well, they smell great and are easily house broken. Additionally, seeing eye ponies are cuter than K-9s. Even if the person who owns it can't see how cute their pony is the rest of the world can.

How did this happen?

Ponies are very smart but with a lack of small cowboy so many were out of work. Instead of getting depressed the ponies got smart (it is very difficult to depress a pony, they are very positive animals). They saw a great opportunity to live indoors, avoid being ridden and they jumped on it.

Seeing eye dogs became complacent they stopped innovating. They felt like no one would be able to guide blind people the that they had. They were wrong. They didn't count on the ponies. One seasoned guide dog confessed, "ruff ruff, ruff, ruff ruff." We aren't really sure what this means but the dog was obviously upset.

Benefits of guide ponies: Everybody wants one, ponies are really a status symbol. When you walk with a pony it is like walking with a sign that says, "I'm blind but I'm important." Many people are allergic to dogs or have are afraid of dogs. No one is afraid of a pony.

Additional benefits include a long life span (ponies can live up to 50 years). Plus horses have better judgement when crossing traffic. How often are horses hit by a car compared it a dog?
