Not to worry

Hollywood writers are set to strike if a deal isn't reached by Wednesday regarding the profits they receive from on DVDs and shows offered digitally on the Internet, cell phones and other devices.

"Viewers could start seeing an onslaught of unscripted entertainment by early next year, when popular series such as "Desperate Housewives" and "Heroes" run out of new episodes"

DO NOT PANIC our blog will continue. I've received thousands of letters from readers concerned that we will no longer produce Bait, Tackle, Ice, Advice & Beer. In fact I'd consider it an outpouring of emotion (I've always wanted to write that). We aren't going anywhere. We will continue to blog. However, we are also very disappointed in the profits we receive from DVDs and shows offered digitally. We see no profits, zilch.

DO PANIC about the fact that networks will have to rely on more reality television. This means we could be in store for shows like: Woodworking with the Stars and America's next Top Game Show Host with celebrity game show judges Pat Sajak, Alec Trebeck and Regis Philbin.

THERE IS HOPE if the writers strike does happen there is a chance Hollywood could retain the services of FEMA's PR Department. They are experienced at writing fictional works made for television and should have no problem picking up where the professionals have left off. Plus they are FEMA they understand drama and apparently as of last week they also understand comedy.
